QPS 9.4GB External DVD-RAM

I'm looking at getting QPS's new 9.4GB external firewire second generation
DVD-RAM drive for back-ups. Anyone have any experience with this drive or
know of any on-line reviews?

Basically they say don't buy one if you have a Blue&White G3.

I've got a Formac dvdram on order:

Main difference is that it is bus-powered and doesn't need a transformer
wart. Here's some questions they answered for me via email:
