I'm using LibreOffice 3.4.4.

When I click on a cell, the formula that the cell uses is displayed in
the "Formula Bar".

The Formula Bar uses a tiny font. Is there any way to change the font
size that the Formula Bar uses?

Thanks.

Probably not, not simply. You can use the facilities of your Mac to
zoom up everything tbut this is not what you want. You could also
change the res of your screen but again, not what you would want. Its
a bit like the Mac OS, you don't have easy control of the size of the
menus, you can use Universal Access facilities.

You can use F2 to edit the formula in the cell instead. Escape to revert
to displaying the result in that cell. Still too small? You can use
Format -> Cells > Fontto increase the font size (though you'll probably
want to change that back to the normal size once done).

Very nice, thank you, Paul.

I just recently started using LibreOffice's spreadsheet program and was
going by what I have remembered from using Microsoft Excel.

Late last night (early this morning), I downloaded a bunch of stuff from
the LibreOffice web site and I have not yet looked it over. How on
earth did you come across that tidbit about F2?

By the way, in downloading that stuff from the LibreOffice web site, I
got average download speeds in excess of 200 Kilobytes per second via
the city-sponsored wifi that I used, sweet! :)

I knew that you could do in-cell editing in Calc but couldn't remember
how to get there. This Google search got me the above link:

libreoffice formula bar

Yes sweet. My town-sponsored wifi got off to a good start when it was
introduced a three or so years ago but hasn't really expanded or improved
since, which is a pity.

In 3.5.4 you can go to Preferences > LibreOffice > View and change the
User Interface scaling up to 130%. This will scale everything and you
may need to click the triangle at the end of the Formula Bar to prevent
the font being cut off.
