For those of you familiar with the old freeware program called ROLODESK,
what are you using to replace that function on
Mac OS X? For those that don't know, ROLODESK was an Apple Menu DA that
worked like a rolodex. It was
very simple to use. Each record was free format to type in whatever you
want. It could be names, address, phone numbers
or create a record for directions on how to feed envelopes into the
printer. The best part about it, is that you could easily search it for
any sort of text.

I believe the original author, Tim Endres no longer supports it, so I am
looking for something to replace it.

Thanks!

Personally I've used Now Up-To-Date/Contact for years. Gives me all the
flexibility I need for data input, though I'm not really happy with the
printing capabilities of the X version (can't print details of single
card).

The direct descendant (as you will see immediately when you try it) is
iData, from Casady & Greene. m.

What about MacJournal, a freeware from Dan Schimpf? That's the one I
prefer, both very simple and quite powerful (instant search while you
are filling the search field, can paste images, uses system spell
checkers, changes fonts, handles more than one "journal" at a time,
password-protects entries if needed...)

... but I'll come back here to check what is said of the others ;-)
