No, but there are numerous shareware and commercial packages available
for Mac users to read newsgroups. I use MT-Newswatcher. You can find
this software and tons of other Mac applications at
http://www.versiontracker.com and also in the downloads section of
Apple's own web site.

Off topic: I just saw a message in a Google group that said the author had requested the message
not be archived. Is that possible if one doesn't post from Google Groups?
