When I print a register in Quicken 2002 for Mac using OSX, printing is
s..l..o..w. It looks as if Quicken is trying to use a font that's not
one of the printer's standard built-in fonts. It might be that the
printer isn't converting Geneva to Helvetica but is drawing it instead.
This problem didn't appear in Quicken 98 with the same printer (a GCC
laser printer).

How can I set the font for printing registers in Quicken (I can only
find that for printing checks), or how can I set the printer to
substitute fonts? This doesn't seem to happen with other apps.

Thanks,

Alan

How did you get Quicken 98 to run under OS X?
Doesn't the printer driver spool the print job? It does for my
Laserwriter Select 360.

I haven't seen this option either.

Sorry - Quicken 98 was under 8.6.

It prints, but it seems to use Geneva 12(?), which is much too large
for the purpose. Also, since it's not substituting, printing is
unbearably slow.

I agree the font actually used is too large, but I don't witness any
slowdown. what happens if you print a document formatted in Geneva from
another application?
