Need Canvas 3.5.6 Updater

I am looking for the Canvas 3.5.6 Updater .sit file, if someone has it.
I had my Canvas installation disks and the updater file backed up on an external hard drive.
After backing them up and having no issues for years, I finally got rid of the original floppy disks
(partly because the Power PC Mac G4 I use the software on didn't have a floppy drive slot, and because I could install from the hard drive files). That hard drive crashed recently and I lost my only copy of my install software. I found a download of Canvas 3.5.4, but can't find the 3.5.6 Updater. If someone has it can they send it to me?

PS - Same drive had all my Canvas graphic design work saved in a separate folder, so I lost all that too.
Starting from scratch now. It's a great program, I've never felt the need to switch to any other more advanced graphic design software all these years.

companies can't be bothered at least putting up a page of old patches.
Shows a disregard for their customers and history.
BTW - a single copy on a hard drive is not a backup. It's just a single
vulnerable copy.

PC, and hasn't been supported on the Mac for 6 years or so. In addition,

Canvas was special in that it combined easy to use and powerful vector
drawing, bitmap graphics painting, and page layout tools all in one
excellent package. I like GraphicConverter a lot, but I couldn't imagine
ever trying to create a newsletter with lots of text and vector and
bitmap graphics, all laid out nicely. That would be an exercise in pain,
methinks.
Nowadays I use AppleWorks and Pages for page layout including graphics.
But if I had a way to run Canvas 3.5 well on my Intel iMac, that also
seamlessly shared the clipboard with OSX, I would happily do so instead.
I've tried classic Mac emulation several times, all with more miss than
hit results, to say the least.

nice for what it does, but doesn't seem to offer anything over and above
Pages and AppleWorks. And if I wanted something easy and fun, not to
disparage other newer choices, I'd go for venerable old and familiar
Print Shop :-)

Shop to several clients wanting to create newsletters, cards and the
like, for whom AppleWorks and then Pages was overkill, nor as user
friendly for the complete novice, and had good results.

I don't know anything about Graphics Converter. The type of work I
was using Canvas for was to supplement my hobby,
which is scale modeling (trains, race cars, etc).
So I use the graphic design elements of Canvas to create waterslide
decal sets. The reason I've been sticking with Canvas 3.5.6,
is because I also have an Alps MD-5000 printer which is capable of
printing white ink for those decal sets. But that printer's last
effective print driver only works under Mac OS 9.2, so I have a Mac G4
that I've kept "suspended in time" with OS 9.2 and Canvas 3.5.6
on it to do that decal work.
The Mac, Canvas and the printer are all still fully operational. What
I lost was my only backup of the installation disks
for Canvas, (as I mentioned earlier, I destroyed my installation
floppies once I backed them up to a an external hard drive not on my
G4). The
reason I'm nervous about losing that backup and am looking for a copy
of the updater is because a couple years back,
my hard drive in the G4 failed and I had to replace it and reinstall
my software from the backup drive. Now I'm in the opposite situation,
the G4 is functioning but my backup failed. So if the G4 drive were to
fail again, I found a .sit file for Canvas 3.5.4 that I can reinstall
from, but
I don't have the 3.5.6 patch to get around the date issue in Canvas
3.5.4. If anybody out there has a copy of the .sit for Canvas 3.5.6,
could they send me a copy?

publishing tools, as well as the higher end drawing ones.
GraphicConverter is best at converter graphics between a huge number of
formats, and making quick and simple edits, like crops, resizing, saving
to a lower file size, some simple simple drawing and painting, and a
number of image manipulations.
IME GraphicConverter is still handy to have around even with Canvas,
Photoshop, or the like, as it can handle a bunch of formats they cannot,
as well as being quicker and easier for a range of edits mentioned
above, especially the re-sizing and saving to a specific file size.

That 3.5.6 updater, was only a patch file to fix a date time bomb that

prevents using Canvas 3.5.x after the year 2004.
You can manually fix this time bomb yourself if you can use ResEdit.
As seen in the macintouch posts, the fix goes like this:

Run ResEdit or Resourcer and open the Canvas 3.5.5 application.
(resource fork)
Find the 'toly' resource with an id of 1011 and open it.
You should see hexadecimal values
'07D4 0008 001F 000C 001E 0000 0001'
Change it to
'07F7 000C 001F 000C 001E 0000 0001'
Close/Save the resource change.
Close/Save the resource file/fork.
Canvas 3.5.5 should now run without the warning for another 35 years!
