My searches at Versiontracker and MacUpdate haven't been too fruitful.
I used to use a great little program called Intellinews, but that was
discontinued ages ago, and although it still works, the plugins are barely
useful for keeping updated on the news.

Go to versiontracker and search on "rss". I see several. Sorry,
NetNewsWire (which is what you really want) is X-only. m.

AmphetaDesk. It's a PERL script, but it comes as a complete app. Works
with your browser (I use Mozilla), and itworks just fine on OS 9.0.4.
