Using a MIME tool to view TIFFs in Safari

I just tried the Accel ViewTIFF software
(http://www.acordex.com/browseProd/VTplugin.html) for viewing the TIFF patent
images, and it works fine in Netscape 7 and IE 5, but not in Safari. I also
tried DjVu 4, but for me it did nothing, at least with the images I want to
view at the US Patent Office.

(If you want to test for yourself, go to
http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/search-bool.html and search for "light bulb
extractor" in the titie. Click the first patent that appears, then click
Images.)

But ViewTIFF is $50, so I'd like to use, say, MisFox
(www.clauss-net.de/misfox/misfox.html) to customize my settings to use
QuickTime or Previewer to view TIFFs. (Without ViewTIFF in IE I get only a
QuickTime 6 chunk of a drawing and in Netscape I get a huge QT drawing I
can't scroll. In Safari I get nothing at all; it can't even view TIFFs on my
hard drive.)

Has anyone modified their MIME settings to do this?
