"I ain't buying one of their whole computers to obtain it, when I
could build one like it myself for less than half the money."
The logical question here is:
How can Joel build a computer that legally runs OSX (Joel said he
wouldn't stoop to running it illegally, "I will forego such piracy")
"for less than half the money"?
Here's Joel on the question of opening OSX up for use in non Apple
computers:
"I actually *want* them to do it, but they may feel that it wouldn't
improve their product. Gee, I wonder why that would be. Microsoft is
more competitive, and I like that.
The logical question here is:
Does Apple's business model allow them to operate in the same fashion
Microsoft does like Joel obviously believes they should?
Is Joel comparing apples to oranges here? Let's try this shoe on the
other foot and ask another question Joel is likely to run from:
What product does Microsoft make that competes with Apple in letting a
user run the 3 currently leading OSes and all their associated apps?
(Joel is probably lacing up his running shoes right now;)
Joel has made his feelings crystal clear about buying any Apple made
hardware (even a used Mac):
"Screw paying for a used Apple. I want OS X itself. I want to install
it on a machine I either already own or can build. Otherwise, they
can't have my money or my usage."
And he also penned the now famous quote:
"If they don't want my business, fuck 'em in the ass with a
broomstick."
Joel has argued that he does "place a value on choice" ... to hear him
tell it, "choice" is his reason for *not* buying a Mac:
"It's that I *DO* "place a value of choice"
But, obviously, the value Joel places on choice has nothing to do with
maximum amount of OSes and associated apps at a user's disposal... the
point I made to Joel regarding choice... that he totally ignored as he
wrote:
"Maximum amount of choices"? Are *you* "sane"? You guys are even
weirder than the Unix people, to have such faith in a closed,
proprietary, overpriced, overrated company."
Joel even insisted that I proved "Apple's inferiority" because I
couldn't "handle discussing the very realistic (in theory, at least)
possibility of opening OS X up to people who build their own
machines".
Joel believes it is "very realistic (in theory, at least)" for Apple
to let OSX run on any hardware. I'm betting we'll never see Troll...
uh... Joel argue for Sony, HP, Asus, Dell etc. to make their own OS
and let it run on any hardware. Of course, now that I have
mentioned... he just might... trolls are funny like that.
P.S. Snit has given Joel his seal of approval as a bona fide non-
troll;)

Reading that craziness (along with a lot of other bogusness in your
post), I see no reason to even respond to your points (if one could
even call them that).

Then why did you reply to Steve's post? Begging for attention like your
bosom buddy Snit? Before long, you and Snit will beg for attention from
each other.
And you cannot post here without begging for attention. You can always
try begging for Joel Crump's attention and give everyone else a rest.

As long as Steve does not have any form of real "power" - namely the ability
to take CSMA out of CSMA and threaten to contact people's employers and
otherwise make a complete and total ass out of himself, he can be fun. The
"pretzel logic" he uses (as someone else called it) and the way he panics
and just stops even trying to respond but sinks to snipping and he runs off
to cry can be entertaining.
When Steve tracked down what other forums I post to and started bringing his
lies there he had gone too far. When he started threatening to contact my
employer with a list of reasons he hates me for the sole intent of trying to
get me fired, he showed he was - literally - insane. Steve Carroll is a
danger to himself and his family... but if he cannot track you down he is
harmless.

But that is a standard Snit modus operandi. Advocates are trolls and
trolls are non-trolls.
In COLA, a new Mac user persona appeared in Oct. 25. This was preceded
same date with a post to alt.test.test by Eternal September (Motzarella)
sock, Justin.
Mac user appearing to be a Windows shill. Interesting.
Perhaps if one looked at periods of times where Snit posts are down and
suspect socks are up, would account for activity.

I actually tend to spend money like it's water. I guess you meant in
some other sense, though, and you're free to conclude that, if it
suits you.

Took all of two minutes... you know, about half as long as it took you
to post your reply here;)
Perhaps you can show some support for your accusations against me.
But, no. You cannot. How sad for you. No doubt you must feel horrid at
being such a failure.

Got it. Two minutes to copy it from your draft and post it here. And most
of a day trying to dream up something clever. You failed.
Do you expect anything worthwhile from a useless Alky like Jim/Mike?

Wait... so Steve posted hundreds of lines of BS just two minutes after the
post he responded to. If so... clearly he is preparing drafts before hand.
LOL!
Poor Steve... he is already snipping, running, starting new threads, begging
his "clique" to rescue him, referencing posts from the person he denies is
his ex from *2004*, the year he obsesses over, and making his argument with
someone else about me. He is obsessive and whacked.

Based on his above reply, perhaps not. Then again, I wouldn't jump to
conclusions. I am new to this group, so I'm trying to be open minded,
especially since I can't deny having been fairly offensive in some of
my posts.

I'm fairly new here also. Buy my organization gave me a pretty large file

You really should let go of your humiliation over not being able to follow
simple copy and paste steps you saw in a video. Really. Just let it go.
