Mac Pro(10.6.2) Time To Transfer: 19min:32sec
Dell (Win 7) Time To Transfer 1:03:12 (Over ONE HOUR!!!
Win 7 has the same sluggish performance transferring thousands of files
that Vista did. Total SLUGGISH POS. Win XP is FAAR faster with
multiple files.
Interesting.
When I copy to and from a jump drive formatted to NTFS its faster on the
mac.
I will ahve to do a test and see how long it takes on both machines.
Wouldn't that be interesting if the Mac could outperform Windows - using
its own filesystem.
I did the same thing the other day with tons of files. I had the exact
opposite results you did.
TOTAL BULLSIT!!! You don't even have a Mac and 10.6.2. If you do
then post from it.
Film it.
TOTAL BULLSIT!!! You don't even have a PC and Windows 7. If you
Film it or it's BS!
I didn't think the Mac could write to NTFS.

In Snow Leopard it's included, but not enabled as shipped.
Steve
"By default, Macs running Mac OS X 10.4.* (Tiger) or Mac OS X 10.5.*
(Leopard) can read NTFS drives, but not write to them."
By Maccie rules third party add-ons don't count. It has to be part of the
OS to count. At least that was the double standard they applied to
Windows.
With Snow Leopard you can now write to NTFS if you make a change to
/etc/fstab. I did that last night & can now write to my BOOTCAMP
volume successfully. Cool.

Oh, Edwin...
Go out and learn some things before you end up spending two weeks
insisting on something that isn't true.

It's Pixar all over again!
Why should we believe you but not him?
Where's John's film?
And why would it matter to you? Even if shown, you deny reality.
According to the little voices inside your head.
My posts about Pixar have left you emotionally scarred. You can't forget
them, even years later.
Does projecting your circumstances into me help to soothe your dark soul?
Why doesn't it matter to you?
> Even if shown, you deny reality.
You have me confused with Alan Baker.
I don't waste a moment of time thinking about them, except when it
amuses me because of something new you've said that's similar.
The little voices inside your head are contradicting each other, as usual.
Post after they get things sorted out. That would mean, of course, that
you would never post again.

What is it you have with voices? Are you schizophrenic yourself?
Here is a post from my Dell using Thunderbird on Win 7 Ultimate.
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
HDD is a WDC WD2500AAJS, NTFS formatted
32,010 files, 15,289,294,848 bytes
Time to Transfer: 14mins:37sec
Next time try reading them from a DVD or thumb drive.
"All this proves is you know how to forge headers!!!! Film It or it's
fake!!!!"
The above is a classic Mactard line.
Apple doesn't support Windows 7 yet with Boot Camp, do I presume these
tests were done with unsupported Vista-era drivers?
They should have used identical hard drives too.
Steve
Notice how he used apps ported from the Mac as well.
Those questions don't carry much weight coming from a grown man who posts
under the name of a kid's cartoon character.
Alan Baker would be first in line to tell you about header forging if you
tried to use them as proof against a Maccie! LOL
Now turn off Remote Differential Compression.
Control Panel => Programs and features =>Turn Windows features on of off
=> uncheck "remote differential compression" => click okay. Now reboot.
It'll be an order of magnitude faster.
Actually, you're wrong (as usual).
I'd be among the first to tell you that I take everything that John
says with a dose of salt...
...actually, even that is wrong.
I pretty much ignore everything John says about computers. He has
pretty much zero credibility with me.
Of course you do. You're a low IQ idiot.
John: what have I told you about keeping quiet when the adults are
having a conversation?
If my name is Alan Baker.
"I'd be among the first to tell you that I take everything that John
says with a dose of salt...
...actually, even that is wrong."
Of course it's wrong! You're Alan "Always Wrong" Baker! This isn't
about disbelieving YOUR enemies, this is about YOUR double standards! LOL
"I pretty much ignore everything John says about computers."
You'd be better off ignoring anything YOU say about computers, and almost
everything else besides! You probably ought to seek out advice on how to
breathe! LOL
"He has pretty much zero credibility with me."
That's a good endorsement for John.
That you wish you had a nickel for ever time somebody said that to you,
Alan?
Too bad. You would be richer than King Midas by now if you had been
granted that wish.
Could this be your new "LOL?"
