You mean as it pisses all over itself? :)
Basically, it looks like it is a complete ripoff of the Apple item., but
with speakers that are more exposed and thus more likely to be damaged.
Yawn.

I see its just as clumsily designed as the Apple boombox.
Well, it doesn't look to be very much better -- it's damn near
identical!
Talk about copying -- this is eMachines making an iMac copy all over
again. Does anyone believe that it's many similarities is only because
these are the practical ways to build such a device?
Obviously not -- from overall shape, general speaker location, and the
location and placement of the player device, this looks to be a copying
effort, not a new design.
I will guess it will come with a removable grill. Many speakers do that
and show the exposed view in the promo pictures as it looks sexier.

Did anyone care when Apple brought out their "boombox" I mean other
than Steve?
I would think the same interest in this item. I bought a iPod for
portability not for anything else.

It is nice to have a *small* speaker system you can attach to an iPod.
I have one (with OK, but not great sound) and I use it when traveling
and when doing work away from my stereo system. I don't think I would
ever have the need for a large iPod speaker system, however.

I don't think you understand this -- many such systems come with a
removeable front grille or foam cover. That is so that you can remove
it if you want.
In advertising, they can therefore show it either way. They show the
speakers exposed. What is wrong?
Sure, grill can be removable - but if you are wise you keep it on, at least
in most cases. To show the product in the less commonly used but "sexier"
way is borderline dishonest. I am not saying it is on the same level as,
say, showing a completely different product or something of that nature -
that would be completely dishonest.
It is a gray area. At the very least they should show the grill on the side
or something. It is not like it is a power brick that is generally hidden.

Scroll down the page. Not even far. What do you see? That's right! The
product with the grill on it.
Had Apple shown only that image I would not be pleased... though I would

So it's "dishonest" to include grills that are not shown, to give you

I think this is the kind of "dishonesty" most people would be happy to

It's a non-issue that you got worked up over while quickly pulling out
the dishonesty label. Anyone who has ever shopped for speakers online or
looked at them in printed catalogs knows the reality here. You remember
reality, don't you? I know, you don't associate with it often (and you

How do you know it's "dishonest"? Have you received one with the

it shows up with grills you should call the police and a lawyer asap.

I doubt he agrees. You are saying that it is dishonest for them to show

Poor Steve, still crying because his buddy Bush is not the hero he wants him

As far as the ad - I do not think it is as open and honest as it should be,

MS isn't marketing "Zune" as an "iPod-killer"; they say it'll take at
least 5 years to be able to catch up.
But I don't agree that "Zune will go the same way as all the other"
players.
I would have agreed a few weeks ago, but I'm seeing Zune enthusiast
sites pop up all over the place. I saw a list of dozens of such sites.
There's one site whose forum already has thousands of posts. What
this means is that there is plenty of buzz for the Zune, much more than
any of iPod's previous competitors. I think this means that lots of
people think that the Zune is "cool" and it will be "cool" to own, just
like iPod, and unlike the other brands of players. That's iPod's main
weapon, the "cool" factor. There was a study that showed that
high-schoolers thought that Zen was better than iPod, but they would
rather have iPods because they're "cool". Many already are seeing Zune
as cool, and I could see high-schoolers thinking that Zune is "cooler"
than iPod because Zune is newer ("fresher"). If Zune aquires "cool",
then Apple's in deep trouble. (They can't afford a price war on iPod,
since it's their main source of income. MS can afford such a price
war.)
And have you seen iPod cause massive spontaneous excitement (bordering
on hysteria) like Zune did on the Ellen DeGeneres show? ;-)

Wow. Microsoft engineers a grassroots campaign...
--
'It's obvious to all that my predictions were wrong. Shall I also
admit the sky is blue?'
'Isn't it funny that Final Cut Pro is nowhere to be seen at Pixar? They're
an all PC shop. ' -- 'me finally admitting that Pixar isn't an all PC shop.'
'... when most Pixar movies were made ... Final Cut Pro didn't even exist.'
-- 'So sue me. I just wrote my remarks off the top of my head.'
'It is Mac OS X, not BSD.' -- 'From Mac OS to BSD Unix.'
I can see Zune becoming the favourite player of the 'Anything but iPod'
brigade, which could be a not inconsequential target market. I don't
see it dethroning iPod at the top of the tree, at least for the
foreseeable future, but Creative et al should be real worried.

Microsoft has taken the strategy of using it's own employees to build
comment sites and fake blogs and other things to market their products
and generate positive commentary.
In other words, they are now paying their own employees to lie.
Microsoft doesn't have any problem with lying about their products and
in their marketing.
But let me ask you -- if the Zune isn't out, and no one has one, how
could there be fan sites? WHY would anyone have decided to be a fan of
a product they haven't seen, haven't heard, haven't held, and haven't
got specs on?
I doubt there is anyone -- unless they are just so convinced Microsoft
is the best developer of anything that they'll get behind it all.

You wanted a comment, here's a comment: You made the big deal out if
things here... and you failed to explain how it would be "dishonest" for
this manufacturer to ship grills with their speaker system when they
don't show grills in the ad. Your position makes no sense... like most
every position you take.

Beggar. Yup, Steve, that's you.
Having fun begging for my attention? Does it make you happy? Does it make
you forget you have no reasonable defense for your buddy Bush?
<http://csma.gallopinginsanity.com/bush/>
I noticed where you posited a new defense for him... where you claimed he
must be innocent because he has not and likely will not be charged and
spewed an idiotic straw man where you implied I stated he would be
charged... and then you lied and said nobody believes he is guilty.
Do you realize how pathetic you are?
Oh, wait. Even you have called yourself a dishonest moronic asshole. Yeah,
you *do* know how pathetic you are. Funny, eh?
Good day.

Read the viewer comments on that page. They don't seem all that
enthusiastic about the "Zune". For instance:
"That's the only way the Zune is going become popular: YOU HAVE TO
GIVE THEM AWAY! You missed the boat Microsoft, get over it!"
"God, those women are like a zoo animals being thrown food!! freaking
animals!! it's a piece of junk anyway..."
"Go check out the DRM on the new Windows Media Player.
Enjoy your Zune, suckers."
And yes, there were some comments that were positive to the Zune.
Some. Most were "meh".

Um, those comments were made by iPod fanboys, quite obviously. You
don't need to quote any of them for me, I already read them and read
the same comments from iPod fanboys at digg.com. The iPod fanboys and
MS haters are going to spread their bile, so what? Such comments speak
of fear more than anything else.

Asking you to support your position is begging? Uh... sure, Snit...
whatever you say. Bottom line: You *still* have failed to explain how it
would be "dishonest" for this manufacturer to ship grills with their
speaker system when they don't show grills in the ad... making your
position here as nonsensical as most of your other positions.

Please note, of course, that I did not say that. You are, again, lying.
You simply cannot help yourself but to lie about me ... hoping that I will
respond. And I sometimes do... but you don't seem happy with it. I do not
play your asinine games, I just point them out.

answer my pertinent question regarding your claim. This is all just

You and your crickets can beg for my attention all you wish, Steve. The
facts will not change:
* You still have never found an honest counter argument to my comments
about Bush: <http://csma.gallopinginsanity.com/bush/>. Ever since your
attempt and failure, *years* ago now, you have been trying to get
revenge - spewing hate and bigotry filled lies and other BS. You are
pathetic.
* You still like about me in your every post - begging for my attention
again and again. This supports my claims about you - and even you have
admitted you are a liar, a moron, and an asshole.
* You still lied when, above, you spewed your absurd straw man. Other than
to point out the fact that you are lying once again, there is no value in
having any discussion with you.
* Your circus is still asinine. I shan't play your games, Steve, but you
cannot help but respond, beg, and lie. You are my puppet. You simply
have no idea how easy you are to predict and manipulate... though I admit
I cannot alter your overall character and make you cease being a moronic
lying asshole. So be it.
By the way, I still find it funny how you no longer speak of the infidelity
you committed against your unmarried wife. Funny how you run from *that*
topic these days, eh? Are you still fantasizing about my emailing her and
going on road trips with her? Are your road trips not quite as pleasing as
they used to be?

Funny, Steve, how you feel the need to beg for my attention in your every
post... but when I give it to you all you can do is snip and run. The
facts, however, stay the same:
I could have swore I just saw this crap 5 minutes ago.
I guarantee you I won't be seeing it again.

I grow weary of Carroll's incessant lying about me. I have again been
giving him more attention than he deserves... and if it is bothersome to you
I shall reduce my schedule of rewards for him. Fair enough?
Is that so obvious? The ones I quoted didn't say anything specific
about iPods - but rather about DRM, WMP, and MS. They could just as
easily be Creative fanbois.

And the positive comments about Zune - were they all by MS fanbois?
