If your experience is that iPods and iPhones are cheaply made junk that
fall to bits with normal usage, then I suspect you would end up reporting
the same with any other Apple product you claimed to use.
So I would certainly advise *you* to stay away from a MacBook Pro. While
you are at it, you should also stay away from comp.sys.mac.system. We
already have a group for people who like this kind of flamebait. I've
redirected discussion there.

You will get a good laptop, but that won't stop you from being unhappy
about it. Indeed, anything you do (other than growing up) will
leave you very very sad.

It appears the doofus is posting through some lame-ass web interface to
Usenet (hence the idiotic BLOG-style emoticons like ::rolleyes::).
Here's the web version of this thread:

Notice a lot of the responses to his post are missing? Silly web site...
: )
Anyhow, I doubt this web site honors followup-to headers, but stranger
things have happened.

Send responses to the relevant news group rather than to me, as
E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM
filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting
messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google
Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts.

Pretty cheaply made stuff is put out by Apple lately. They have gone
down faster than Monica Lewinski.

Leaving aside all your other crap - "LCD is inferior to CRT"? That must
be why CRTs are still selling so well! :-D

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
