I see that Apple will come out with the new Mac Pro. It was
the only computer Apple sold that you can add cards in. But the
new one won't allow that, in fact it doesn't look like a
computer. It looks more like a standup ashtray. Maybe it looks
like a garbage can. I think it looks like a toilet for the Apple
cult members to throw money in and flush it.

The cray was 6' tall, 8' across, 10klbs, and was cylindrical (270 degrees actually) to keep wiring distances short.

The o2... was a rounded box similar in size to most desktops and workstations.

It's a shame your ignorance gets in the way of common sense John.

Yes it is an unexpected shape which will be a change from the standard
workstation box sitting on the floor taking up way too much space.

The insides are actually changeable, if my memory serves me right phil
schiller mentioned module upgrades so it's not a buy this and you cant
change anything.

Give it a few months and it will launch with alot more description and
detail available to contain your excitement.

In the meantime realise your looking at the future of workstation pc's.
Apple have pushed things forward as per usual and i have no doubt other
company's will follow suit when they figure out how the hell Apple got
that high spec hardware into something so small.

If HP or Dell came out with the shape, the usual suspects
in here would be saying it looked stupid. Just like when they
said it was stupid to put out a 7" tablet and Apple would never
do that.

On the contrary, I've already pointed out that this form factor, is,
in your words, "stupid" for certain specific customer use cases - and
since it wasn't obvious to you, this means for all manufacturers - -
meaning yes, specifically Apple, since they're the ones trying it
here.

xept in pc maybe there will be an expansion slot or two without a need
for another enclosure.

I could understand how they lock people in with two graphics cards
to simply the nightmare of desktop opengl driver maintanance,
but aside from that, how are you supposed to stuff your sas and sata
drives
in there without the aforementioned external enclosure

and once you got that enclosure all your noise achievements due to the
super dupe fan are out of the window

and no, i don't want a daisy chain of thunderbolt devices on my desk.
I don't want hdmi either, 1.4 or whatever. I want to be able to drive
an 8k or 16k monitor once they appear without flushing $5k down the
drain

my thinking is this thing will depreciate way, way quicker than
existing
upgradeable mac pros cause it's plain unuseable in a professional
market

So then up you are defending his bigotry because it was an ethnic slur
instead of a religious slur?

Of course, the prevailing Western popular perception would also make
racial associations, even if they're pedantically in error. Frankly,
I doubt Nicholas to be that intelligent, particularly since he picked
up this insult attempt from Zara troll based on a photo I took of a

Bullshit. The impression here was not wrong - it was bigotry.

You're simply trying to apologize for a bigot because the specific
*type* of his bigotry was simply misidentified...

...well, not even that: you claimed misidentification, even though the
three commonly applied factors cannot be made mutually orthogonal to
make it a logically valid 'Either A -or- B' format claim. So the
pedant has made a pedantic error himself...how ironic.

I'll take that as a joke.

secondly, it will probably run near silent, no moving parts thanks to

I would hapily get a mac Pro and attach a nice thunderbolt 2 NAS

banter? And just how was it your dog, anyway - other than to simply

I don't know what "dog" it was, "Flint". You're the one who claims you
don't have one.

What I know is you claim you have no reason to be posting...

Your persistence in avoidance condones the slur which was made.

No, you did it to yourself.

Oh, your motives are quite obvious, unfortunately: its a higher
priority for you to try to pedantically "buttonhole" Alan than to be a
responsible adult for a moment and call out a malicious bigot for his
slur.

There was no attempt to 'buttonhole' him whatsoever. If anything,
Alan chose the WRONG buttonhole - I simply chose to free him of it, and...

... you can't handle it because you are more selfishly concerned over
your perceived slight from Nathan, and are exhibiting a "if'n you
ain't fer me, yer agin me." playground kiddy/bully tactic. Like I
said, I have no dog in this fight, but if a fight is what you seek, I
guess I can give you one since you exude such moral authority so as to
drag me into your fight over something I had no part of. Your attempt
to draw me into your "mighty righteous cause" is pathetic. Frankly,
as long as I've chatted with you, I've never busted on you and your
verbosity, but frankly, your attempt to impugn my motives for lack of
outright supporting your holy war on bigotry disgusts me, and now I'm
going to just come out and say it: You suffer from verbal diarrhea.

What I find humorous is that you left Nathan get under yer skin so.

To those given to hallucinations, I suppose. But then you also
claimed his slur was in reference to skin color when nothing of the
sort was even said.

Yep, self-evident hallucinations are pretty powerful, I suppose.

I never specifically claimed any such thing. You simply erroneously
inferred this, probably based on one of your morally highbrowed
hallucinatons from reading too many white characters between lines.

It's rather similar to "highway hypnosis". I suggest getting up from

Who appointed you as a moral arbiter, Liar?
It's really priceless how you come to your buddy's unsolicited defense.

Back to being on topic, I'm just loving my experience with my PC. It's
faster, more stable and will run just about anything I need.

In the meantime, you and your verbose buddy in arms can drool over the

Nicholas used bigotry as a weapon to try to be a bully.
He failed.

Ad hominem namecalling.

Go ahead and try to defend the bigot, even though you know that the
nymshifter troll has used the same slur repeatedly and maliciously.

No, it simply is not mincing words: his comment was a slur.

The addition of "perceived racial" is simply your spin-doctoring.

Whereas you're trying to blame the victim.

...with also the incorrect assumption that I'm the victim.

Apparently, you've never seen anyone stand up to a bully because his
victim cannot.

Now go run along ... there's certainly rapists & murderers in your
town that need you to defend them.

I never said it was in reference to skin colour.

Flint was just whining about how I'm too verbose...and now he complains that I'm too terse!

Flint's hypocrisy is quite revealing...and not at all a surprise, unfortunately.

Indeed.

He has "no dog in this fight" when Nicolas acts like a bigot, so he
objects to what he feels is an incorrect identification of the *kind* of
bigotry...

...but let Nicolas call you a "stalker" and he is suddenly mute.

It was a reading comprehension failure by Nicolas.

The nymshifter troll was referring to "Zara", under whatever his name happens to be this week...IIRC, its presently "Jay Birdsong".

I've never been on any soap box, Nicolas...

I didn't say anything about bigotry. That was your canard not mine.
I simply stated it wasn't >racist<, and only allowed for a possible
interpretation of ethnic bigotry., and even then I'm not certain it
was even that. Now you want to widen the goal post uprights with
'bigotry'.

OK, so for arguments sake, let's say you're right and it was a bit of
ethnic bigotry. Again, so fucking what? Maybe something about hh's
ethnicity bugs him, again, so what? Anyone who claims they don't hold
to some form of bigotry is a flat out liar. It's only a question of
the particuar flavor/degree of bigotry. If you can't handle it, then
leave CSMA. This ain't 'beanbag' we're playing here.

Oh yeah, I forgot. "Stalker" is an obvious reference to skin color, right?

I missed *nothing*. Your bellyachin was originally based on Nathan's
racism, with a claim it was based on skin color even though nothing
abouty skin color was stated or even implied by "Habeeb".

Since it is evident you made that mistake before, it's not too great a
stretch/inconceivable you may be mistaking "stalker" as well and
somehow trying to make an absurd claim once again...
