So Microsoft makes laptops?
Asus sells Linux laptops - I wonder if that has anything to do with the
reliability.
That's a pretty high rate of failure for Dells and HPs. I
always knew Toshiba, Sony and ASUS to make good quality
products. I have told these Mac zealots that Apple is no more
reliable than the next computer but they keep saying it. To be
honest, the computers I've built have a much lower rate of
failure than these from the big companies. My usual failure rate
is 10% after four years. Usually it's a HD or DVD/CD drive. Then
it's usually due to heavy use. But that was then, now I rarely
build whole systems from the ground up. Mostly I do upgrades and
repair the software problems.
John
How many notebooks do you build? You do realize this was talking about
notebooks?

Doesn't really matter: what he says he says isn't correct, anyway:
His most common statements about this have been, (and I know it looks
stupid, but these really are Slade's claims):
Macs are nothing but PCs now.
Macs are just like all the other PCs.
Macs are all made in china by sweatshop workers using the worst of
Chinese-made components in the most unreliable conditions.
Nothing in Macs is as good as the components in PCs.
All Macs are junk, nothing but clones, made in China.
