I again want to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you
with your recent purchase. In addition, please let me clarify our company
procedures on price drop information. When a client purchases a new system
he or she has the option to call within thirty-days of receiving the system
to request a price drop.
Unfortunately, there might have been some misunderstanding when you
purchased the system from Gateway. The misunderstanding might have been on
our sales team as a result of you not calling in before hand, again I
apologize. As our internal information states, we can not request a price
drop that is past thirty-days after a client receives their system. Thus, if
you need further clarification on this, I would recommend that you contact
our Customer Service department.

Okay, so you can't waive 4 days? I waited 10 days for the laptop to get to
me. It was sent 2 day ground. However it was delayed twice at your
factory. If you look at my order, you will see I ordered it 03/22/99 and
it was shipped on 03/26/99. So that would exactly be one month to 4/26/99,
the price drop date. If you go by the shipping date. I don't think this
should be that much of a problem.

You knew the price when you did the purchase. You willingly paid it,
and presumably was happy with the unit and the purchase, until seeing
other info on the web site.
That's like making a deal with your best friend, and then renigging,
saying this or the other set of circumcstances caused you to go back on
your word. "Nomas no good", as my grandfather used to say.
If all business in the US were not the same, I would say that perhaps
you have a gripe, but all business is basically the same here, and WE
KNOW IT.

I guess they are thinking that you have 30 days from when you agreed to pay
such a price to find a better deal on the same unit.... doesn't matter if
for some stupid reason you didn't even have your laptop delivered yet (ok,
so you shouldn't be still waiting after 30 days but it was an example).
Do they all do the same thing on trial periods when they say no questions
asked money back before 30 days?????? I've always wondered about that!
