Has anyone recently upgraded their i7000 from IE4.01 to IE5.0? Any problems
or conflicts? Where did you download IE5.0 from? Does Dell "officially
condone" this upgrade? And I use the term "upgrade" with tongue in cheek.

I recently updated to 5.0 on a dell 3500, no problems at all, and i like
most of the new features, internet pages seem to load faster, but the mail
and newsgroups seem a bit slower. Just click your explorer button (uppper
right) or go to microsofts site.
.It took about 3hrs on my 33.6 modem.

Installed it on an i3000 with no problems and it is well worth the upgrade.

Most of the replies to this say they haven't experienced any problems going
to IE5. A Dell tech sent me an E-mail and urged me not to make the move for
several months. I'm in no mood to wait for a 3 hour download so I'll take
the conservative route for the time being.

I upgraded without any problems. I've been running it since the
release date and no problems have popped up. The new Outlook Express
is nice. The browser seems to run faster but I don't benchmark these
things.
