Does anyone know anything about the Hyperdata notebook computers? There
seems to be a lack of information on the net about these laptops, but
the price is very low.

Look for reviews on the ARMNote TS759. It is the exact same system as the
MediaGo 950. I have seen several reviews on it and everyone seems to love
it... I tried to get one under $2000 on an Auction but the price went up to
$2500 in the last 10 min...
Also the Trogon Qualitas Q.24 is the same as the MediaGo 950...

I finally decided that sites such as these are of no use....... There is a
site just like that for every brand of computer on the market even DELL...
The DELL site had hundreds of complaints.....

If I based my computer buying decisions on sites like that.. I would not
even own a computer.....

Tom,

I just purchased a Hyperdata notebook. I got it a few days ago and am
pleased thus far... Don't know about long term though.

If you research it a little, you will discover that there are only 3 major
manufacturers of laptop computers in the entire world. These 3 manufacturers
supply every company on the market with notebook computers. (similar to the
monitor manufacturing situation where again, 3 companies manufacture picture
tubes for every monitor on the market) The only company in the entire world
that manufacturers their own laptop computer is Toshiba.
With this in mind, you know that the components for the Hyperdata notebook
is coming from one of these 3 major manufacturers. (a little hint - this
particular company is located in Asia - responsible for several "name brand"
books as well.
Every manufacturer is going to have their fair share of problems to deal
with. The deciding factor should come down to price and warranty validation.

Last Sept. I bought a MediaGo 850 from Hyperdata.
It has been a very good computer and when Win 98 came out it took the
upgrade with no problems.

Only thing that I worry about at times is after running it for more than a
few hours, it does gets VERY hot from the CPU. They load these laptops up
with a lot of features and I feel I definitely got my moneys worth on this.
If I have any questions, I have e-mailed Hyperdata and have gotten a
response within a day or so which I find pretty good considering some of the
other companies response times.

Other than that, had no problems up till the other day when I made a big
mistake and was moving the computer with the screen up and I tripped. Well
we probably know what happened. The screen is broken big time now. That is
not covered under their warranty so looks like I am gonna have to bite the
screen replacement now. Haven't called Hyperdata on the cost yet. Scared at
what I am going to hear. Hope the parts prices have dropped like the prices
for their laptops!
