From the post regarding thinkpads, this guy seems to be the guru of guru's
when it comes to thinkspads & laptops in general. Is he an independent or
does he work for IBM?

Is this the same Bill Morrow that was building PC's in the late 70's ?

The name Godbout computers seems to come to mind.

Why don't you look at his site, www.thinkpads.com, for answers to
questions like this?

He is indepdendent, and a good guy. I communicate with him quite often
and have bought stuff from him several times.

I think he is an independent, but he is a licensed VAR for IBM. His
discussion boards are very helpful.

Bill is one of the nicest guys around. If I buy an A20p I'll definately
buy it from him. I got a 17GIG drive from him and everything went very
smoothly.

I used to be on the Thinkpad listserve and Bill was very active and
very helpful there. He does know a lot and he makes it a point to
learn all he can and share the information. A lot of people on the
listserve bought things from him and they seemed to always be happy
about it.

I can't remember if it is the same Bill Morrow or not and I have never
thought to ask.

Regarding the present Bill Morrow I can only give him the highest
recommendation, for his service, honesty and attention to detail.

I strongly recommend him to anyone who wants IBM products, or Hard Drives
and Memory for other popular laptops. If it's out there, Bill will track it
down for you.

Bill is an independent IBM VAR and one of the most knowledgeable Thinkpad
people on the planet.

He's not the cheapest guy selling laptops and upgrades, but he is certainly
one of the most honest and helpful. I unreservedly recommend Bill for
everything from HD and memory upgrades to brand new A20p's.

I've been abusing his good nature for years with arcane questions about old
Thinkpads and he still talks to me! :-)

Regards,

James

The guy who founded Morrow computers was named Bob, not Bill. He co-founded
Godbout computers with Bill Godbout.

Our first 5 meg drive was about twice that much. It was from Radio
Shack for a Tandy Model II or a Model 12. I can't remember which
one we got it for. That was probably around 1981 +- a year or two.
