Windows socket error (11001), on API 'ASync Lookup'
and by hitting ALT TAB I see a program running (well, I can't "See" it, it
has
no window, but it has an entry) called A456E124F1. I ran my Norton 2001
antivirus through Windows (Updated on 1/23/02) but it didn't find anything,
and I tried an online virus scanner that said there was an infected file in
C:\_Restore\Arcihve\FS5.CAB. I deleted FS5.CAB and rebooted, but the virus
is still there.
I've read a few articles online about this, some posted as recently as
1/22/02, but I've seen nothing that describes if it IS a virus,
or how to remove it.
Have there been any statements made? Is this the new virus on the block? Or
has nobody heard of what I'm talking about?
Please email me if possible, thanks.
