Hi,
another point of my attempt to get S/36 Software running on my CISC-AS/400.

I have a lot of Source-Members Type OCL36,
how do i compile them?
i have 5763ss1 (Opt.9) installed (*PRV CL-Compiler support)

But when selecting Option 14 in PDM, it won't compile...
:-(

(I'm a really S/36-Newbie :)

Thanks,
-h

OCL36 members are not compiled into programs. OCL is interpreted as
it goes.

See the following on the STRS36 and STRS36PRC commands:

Thanks,
now i understood this one. Now my next problem. I restored some libaries
from /36 tape
containing program objects. It seems these objects have been restored to
<library>/qs36lod/<objectname>

But my applications cant execute them because the objects cant be found.
How do i handle this right to have the executeable objects restored.
Currently
the /36 is not available, i just have some tapes generated by SAVE and
SAVELIBR.
?

Thanks a lot,
Holger

It's been over 12 years since I did a conversion from a S/36 to S/36EE
so I don't know what to tell you about qs36lod, but I can tell you
that S/36 executables cannot run in the S/36EE. You do have to
recompile programs and display files.

Here are a couple more links to look at in addition to all of the
manual that I gave you a link to a specific section of:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QBKAQW00/CCONTENTS

The members that exist in the qs36lod object are the compiled "S36"
members that were brought over during conversion. The conversion
program does not really know what to do with objects from a s36, since
they cannot be run on the 400, so it puts them in this object and then
never uses them. A good waste of space.
