HI!
I know this isn't a PS/2 machine , but thought someone here might be
able to help. It is a PC750 100 6885-R8H. I've got it all screwed up. I went
to install a new maxtor IDE 20 gig drive. The bios only reported it as a 4
gig drive so I thought the BIOS needed to be upgraded. I downloaded
n2jt50a.exe and expanded it to floppy. I then booted this floppy it asked
for the country and I responded accordingly. This is were my memory gets a
little blurry. It then displayed the model number which was correct and
asked if I wanted to change it. I selected no, Then same thing with the
serial number. I couldn't see why I would want to change this information
and was given some option to exit and was told to press Ctrl-Alt-Del. Now
the system won't boot no beeps nothing on the screen. I tried moving the
reset BIOS jumper, which had no effect. Have I fried the flash BIOS?

Martin, you flashed it with the PCI/MCA BIOS. You need the PCI/ISA BIOS.

<ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/commercial_desktop/n1jt89a.exe>

What you will have to do is put in a PCI/MCA riser to get the machine going and
then flash to the PCI/ISA BIOS. Then re-install the PCI/ISA riser and
everything should be fine.

Of course, if you don't have a PCI/MCA riser you are out of luck ...
