Here in NJ I visit these computer recovery warehouses and look mostly
for PS/2's and parts etc. Unfortunately they have nicknamed me the PS/2
guy. I am not as knowledgable as the guys on this newsgroup but I seem
to be the only guy who knows anything about these machines. Here in NJ
their are a lot of big old companies. Especially US government
companies and they have PS/2's galore that they just send away to
computer recovery and recycling center. They never throw them away into
a dumpster here in NJ. One PS/2 that I have is a 9577BTB model. It was
never used. It just sat in this company as an extra. When I came into
the recovery place I asked and they gave it to me for 55 dollars. The
people here just see a propietary machine and here that is considered a
waste. Too bad for them but great for me. Right now there is this one
place that has a PS/2 in its original box. It is either a VTG or BTG.
I have two machines already but I can't let this opportunity pass by so
I am probably going to buy it. However that is the way it is. I will
probably buy this machine and a week or month later BOOM! Another PS/2
like new will appear. Their is a lot here.

Ok, Kevin and Euclides, I live in NJ and only have ONE PS/2. So where
are these computer recovery warehouses? I haven't recovered from my
wife making me get rid of a Model 30; now all I have is a 9577DNG and a
760ED ThinkPad.

And how would one find these computer warehouses in another part of the
country? I'm in Fresno, CA, which is in the middle of the state.

Awww ... another "PS/2 vs. wife" tragedy. Will this ever stop ?

Thank the blue that the only thing I worry about is the
physical space occupied. The cube kills faster around here
than anything...

Any PS/2 vs. husband? Sort of scary- something that is
reliable, obedient, doesn't stay out with the "boys". What
sane woman WOULDN'T want a PS/2 instead?

Very supportive also. Make a table with two- Rock of
Gibraltar.

Where else? The yellow pages. Except don't look for a "PS/2"
heading for anything. You reverse engineer the lookup. Find
a company with the stuff, find out how they're listed and the
other companies in that category will either have similar stuff
or know who does.

As long as you're prepared to take a pallet and pay cash, I can
practically guarantee you that the ones holding a load of PS/2s
will be glad to hear from you.

Hi, Peter (a/k/a Mr. Digital :-)

I misspoke. My ex-wife.

She has since obtained her own computer and spends time on the
Internet. She would never be caught dead doing that during our
marriage.

I.e., Peter, you are so right.

Hi Dan !

I see.

"One of us has to go: the computer or me !"
"Bye sweetheart. I will miss you ... a bit."

Hahaha. Maybe she's looking for a newsgroup alt.soc.computerwidows or suchlike.
Shouldn't be hard to find ....

>I.e., Peter, you are so right.

Only luck this time. I made a wild guess .... ;-)
