My Packard Bell machine crashed - - therefore I upgraded to Windows 2000

Now, whilst the CD works it is so very very slow i.e. 10 minutes to even
begin setup.

Any ideas how best to rectify - it is using the standard Windows 2000
drivers BUT I am not sure what CD ROM / WRITER it is - how would I find
out.

Packard Bell IEXTREME 9810 (web site a bit vague and certainly no drivers)

Any helpers???
