COMPANY PROFILE AND HISTORY

September 1991

Covox was founded in 1975 as a dba of SRT Inc., a research/development and
manufacturing firm based in Southern California. SRT's President and
founder, Dr. J.L. Stewart, has extensive backgroun in acoustical signal
processing and electrical engineering. SRT relocated to its present location
in Eugene, Oregon in 1982, accompanied by the President's two sons, Bradley
and Mark Stewart. Prior input/response technologies were put to task with
the then-popular Commodore 64. The first commercial release of "Voice
Master" was made in 1983 for the Commodore.
Over the following two years, similar versions were designed for the Apple II
and Atari 8-bit line of personal computers. In late 1987, the IBM PC
version of Voice Master made its debut along with the popular "Speech Thing"
All furthur development surrounded the IBM and compatible MSDOS-based
machines.
In 1984, the "Sound Master" was first introduced for the Apple II personal
computer, followed in 1989 with an MSDOS version for PC's for a growing
market of entertainment and multimedia needs. In 1990, three new products
came into the marketplace, the "Voice Master System II", "MIDI Maestro",
and "Sound Master II". Covox also manufactures other custom products for
OEM accounts. The Covox facility is located in the industrial area of
Eugene, Oregon, with 8800 square feet of modern office, manufacturing,
and warehouse space. The founder, Dr. J.L. Stewart, is now Chairman of the
Board for Covox and has moved on to other ventures in Vancouver, Washington,
where he resides. The co-owners are Mark R. Stewart, President, and
Bradley C. Stewart, Vice President and Chief Technical Officer.
