I have a question about playing Photo CD's. I have the following
hardware setup :
Creative Labs Soundblaster 2.0 (not Pro)
Creative Labs CD-ROM upgrade kit for SB 2.0
This CD-Rom player (something like Matsushita ?? 1521 ??) comes with
an additional interface board unlike the one for a SB-Pro, that interfaces
with the SB-Pro card directly. As a driver for this card, I use the
file SB2CD.SYS.
I know you need a XA CD-ROM drive to read Photo CD's, but I didn't know if
my drive is XA compatible.
When I purchased a Kodak Photo sample CD however, the salesperson ensured me that
I could play it on the particular CD-ROM drive (I know, I know, never trust a
salesperson). The only thing needed to do this was a new version of the driver.
He gave me a new driver named SBPCD.SYS (version 2.0).
But whatever I try to configure this driver, it keeps saying : Interface board not ready.
My questions are : Is it possible AT ALL to play Photo CD's on a Matsushita (?) CD
ROM drive ?
If so, Is it possible with the SBPCD.SYS driver I described?
If so, what command line options are needed to specify the
Sounblaster address (220H) and the interface card address (250H)
Any help is very appreciated.
Thanx in advance,
Johan

Yes. The CL (or Panasonic/Matsushita 521, 523, 531) CD-ROM drives
are Kodak photo-CD compatible, single session.
I hear they are working on multiple session drivers.
