Roland SCC-1 owners:

Please help. What is the length of the SCC-1 card?
1/2, 2/3 or full length? This will determine if I buy
a Compaq or not (the presario line will accept 2/3-
sized cards max).

Thanks VERY much!!!!

Ken

P.S. Yes, I will base the purchase of my computer on
whether or not I can use the SCC-1.

Hi.
I read an ad that said the Roland SCC-1 is 1/2 size.
Don't know for sure.

Size of the SCC-1: it's a dinky little board, plugs into an
8-bit slot if it needs to. About the size of a modem card--
that must make it 1/2 size, right?

By the way, I agree with your priorities: Sound definitely
comes first! (A PC box is a pc box is a . . .)

The SCC-1 seems to be 1/2 length, ie. length of a 16 bit slot.
Haven't seen the SCC-1B, altho I have seen a review
which shows a 3/4-full length card. Could be a misprint

Theorising that one could time travel within his own lifetime,
Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Accelerator...and vanished....
He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing a mirror image
that was not his own and driven by an unknown force to change
history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al,
an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a
hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Dr. Sam Beckett
finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right
what once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next leap
would be the leap home......

FYI, The SCC-1 and the SCC-1B are exactly the same. The only difference, is
that the SCC-1B comes with different software: Ballade and Band in a Box.

THe SCC-1 is somewhere between 3/4 and 1/2 length. I'm pretty sure that
it is a 3/4 length card

There is only one SoundCanvas on a card - SCC-1.
SCC-1B is a package of SCC-1 + Ballade GS & Band In the Box GS..
B stands for bonus software I think..

Thanks for all the responses, especially to Mike Bates for
taking the time to measure the card!
