DB for PAS16!??? There's no DB for PAS16 since it doesn't have any WB
connector. Try to find a stand-alone card such as SCC-1or compatible
for Wavetable upgrade.

There's no connector for a daughter board on the PAS16. You'll have
to use an ISA wavetable card, like a Roland SCC-1, TB Maui, or GUS ACE.

THose Media Vision sound cards with WB connector aren't PAS16. They are
MV premium 3D sound cards!

Let's try this again. A simple test to see if the card I have is a "MV
premium 3d". The Premium is NOT PAS16 compatible. The card I have (the
PAS16 with WB connector) is! Are you satisfied? If you want me to take
the serial and model number off the card, I will.

Perhaps it's a Pro Audio Studio 16?
If it's sitting in your closet, you wanna sell it for $20?

One more thing add, they use Jazz 16 chipset which is not same as
PAS16.
Mac Chen
Maybe you ought to read my initial posting. The card I have can NOT have
the Jazz 16 chipset simply because the card I have IS PAS16 compatible.
The Jazz 16 is NOT compatible with the PAS16. I've check the model
number with the Mediavision database and it shows it as some variant of
the PAS16, NOT the JAZZ16, not the Premium 3d, not the Pro 3d, and not
certainly not the Pro Sonic....

It's certainly not a Pro Audio Studio since I tried it with the driver
software and it didn't work. I did try it with the PAS16 drivers (the
jumperless setup version) and that worked. In any case I'm not willing
to sell it only because I may find a use for it in the future.
Kelvin
Perhaps you have the Pro Audio Studio card.

ş OLXWin 1.00a ş How do I set my laser printer to "stun"?
Incorrect.
Colin speaks the truth:
Media Vision produced a sound card (initially intended to be the Pro
Audio Studio XL) called the Pro Audio Spectrum 16 that had one unique
feature from all of the other Pro Audio Spectrum 16s: Wavetable DB
connectors. Unfortunately, after a massive amount of testing, it was
discovered that the Spectrum (MVD101) chipset could not properly
support these headers without the side-effect of the occaisional
hanging note. Media Vision continued to use these PCBs under the name
Pro Audio Spectrum 16 (because they were in every sense of the
specification a Pro Audio Spectrum 16) but did not mention the fact
that they included a 26-Pin connector for Wavetable daughtercards.
Media Vision moved onto the more advanced Jazz 16 (MVD1216) chipset
(which could support the wavetable headers) around that time and
dropped the Spectrum line of sound cards.
If you are one the lucky ones to have purchased a PAS 16 with wavetable
headers, you may be able to upgrade the card with any WaveBlaster
compatible daughtercard. Unfortunately you run the risk of having to
deal with hanging notes using General MIDI.
To find out if you have such a card, look for the headers near the top
of the card, or look for the part number silk-screened on the sound
card. There are two possible, wavetable DB compatible, part numbers:
650-0091-01 or 650-0097-##.
