I need to change the time and date stamp on a file. Are there any programs
that allow me to modify both the time and date of a file?

There are some editors that will let you change this but theeasiest way is to
bring the program into Wordpad, add a space at the end, delete the space and
save. You will use the date stored in the PC at that time. You can always lie
to the PC clock.

That's the best generic solution unless you have a utility handy that
does it as a direct option eg XTree.

In unix there's a handy tool called 'touch' for things llike that.
Look for a windows version - you should be able to find it on the net.
At least a dos version exists.

There is a shareware program called FILO available at www.basta.com no I
am not a salesperson for the above. Just a satisfied user.

Wow. Touch is a neat little program and is one of those "keepers". Thanks
for sharing that one.

This is where I got it from:

In unix you can use touch (I think), there are some DOS programs on
various PD sites although, you could download a hex file editor (binary
editor) load up the file and resave it again unmodified.
