Mail order houses - FAQ list?

A friend of mine is in the process of trying to buy a 486, possibly
from a Mail Order house. I looked around on Simtel and other places
for an appropriate FAQ list. I only found some stuff on sound boards
and suspect that the real FAQ list may have been wiped out by mistake.
Does anyone have a relatively recent FAQ list from
comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware that is more than information about sound equipment?
Specifically, I want a list of reputable and non-reputable mail order
houses. The digest had some comments in the archives but that was
mostly software relevant and very old.
Alternatively, would anyone care to comment on any of the following
mail order houses?

FastMicro ---- already heard some bad stuff about these guys and plan to
avoid them, listed as "unsatisfactory" by BBB of Phoenix, AZ
