I am having trouble with my floppy disk drive (3.5", 1.44 MB)
It was all working fine until just recently, when it starts coming up with
the error message:
floppy disk(s) fail (C0)
on boot-up. I remember once before having this problem, but with the error
number being (40). I think this was due to having the wrong part of the
floppy cable connected to the disk drive? However, i have absolutely no
idea what i can do to get my floppy disk working again from its current
situation - apart from that, my computer works fine...
Any suggestions on how to make this work / fix the problem, would be much
appreciated

I had this same problem last week. The (40) problem was, indeed, a
mis-aligned cable. The (CO) problem was resolved when I removed a
tape accelerator card from the ISA bus. On the theory that the card
was bad, it's been RMA'd back to Iomega for a new one. This is an
Abit BX6 mobo w/ a PII/266 o/c'd to 300 (3x100).
Without knowing your mobo/config, you may want to check for problem
cards, especially ISA. Pull everything but the video and reboot. If
the floppy comes back, reinstall until you get the error...

I currently have my motherboard sitting on my desk, and all cards (exc. PCI
video removed - but no luck).
I did buy some new RAM recently - could that possible be the problem?
Though i did remove this for a while and rebooted, though still got the same
problem...
At a loss at the moment, but sure that the floppy drive is OK - would it
have been possible to accidently fry the on board floppy disk controller or
something like that?
If it helps at all, i have a pent 133 / 16 (+new 2x16) MB RAM, Spacewalker

Anybody who knows what the error message actually means too would be very
interested to know - can find no information on it anywhere on the 'net
through any of the major search engines...
