Does anyone know of any Video Capture board vendors that make available
sufficient documentation to program a driver for their board? So far, the
vendors I have contacted seem pretty tight with the low-level information.

I'd like to do video capture as part of a demo application that runs on a
research real-time operating system. We aren't running DOS nor MS Windows,
so we can't use vendor-supplied drivers or Windows libraries. We do have
plenty of technical expertise to write drivers, given sufficient board and
chip level docs.

Anyone gone down this road before? Any ideas or pointers would be much
appreciated.

Salient Systems Corporation is developing a real-time frame grabber
capable of up to 1024x1024x8 resolution grabbing at 30 frames/second.
It is based on the TI 32C080 DSP and will be available in late December.
We will be GIVING the tools for free with the card. We have a Web page
with our products in it. The capture card has not made it onto the page
as the page is only 1 week old. You will find one of oue video cards
there.
