I am in the process of attempting to clone a hard drive in order to
ulimately dump the image on to 10 PC's. I have dumped the image I
want to distribute onto a PC running the Multicast Server and had no
problems. It is however creating the main image file and an
additional file with "001" added on to the end.
When I go to load the images on to the other 10 PC's it gets to about
80% completion and tells me"Connection reset by server with Ghostcode
19922" another message appears referring to the file with the "001".
I have the image saved in the C:\Program Files\Norton Ghost 6.0
directory as is the file with the "001".
Am I right in assuming that my image has been split or spanned? The
main file is 1.99 GB, does Norton automatically split the image if it
is over two GB? If not than how can I mantain one image file?
Basically I just need to locate a solution and Symantec's website was
not to helpful in my endeavor.
Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Yes. Basically because 2GB files are safest as far
as being universally supported by all partition formats.

Not sure you can force that.

Yeah, it can run out of steam pretty quickly.
Its generally best to use google to search it.

Look after a command line switch in the Ghost client to enable it to use
multiple image (this is fuzzy in my memories : if I use it, it is in a batch
file so I don't have to memorize it !)
It should chain to the next part automatically.

Read the Ghost manual.
There is books that are more pleasant to read but many, many topics are
covered by it.
The manual is _really_ helpfull

Did you tried to save your image using the higher compression level ?
(Assuming a Windows system)
If you need to save space from your disk image, look after Windows Service
pack files, as well as uninstall file for hotfix.
You can even try to "kill" your pagefile before taking the image.

Ghost doesnt save it to the image file.
Yep, you're right. It shows you the actual file size but doesn't store it
in the .gho file.
