Does ANYBODY out there know how I can get a second scsi hard drive to be
recognized by the computer? I have 2 HD's (scsi) hooked up to the SUMO and
I can only use one of them. I get "invalid drive specification" when I try
to dir it and fdisk doesn't see it. The SUMO "sees" it as it does the
first drive but Dos or windows does not. Will somebody PLEASE help me.
Thanks.......please reply here or to my email address below

I don't know anything specific about this SUMO card. But there are two
ways to access/support a SCSI Hard Disk under DOS: BIOS Int 13, and
Device Drivers.

BIOS support allows you to use conventional DOS methods in
partitioning and Formatting. Device Drivers usually require special
programs other than FDISK and FORMAT.

Many SCSI BIOS's will support 2 Hard Disks via BIOS, although some
also require special conditions for this. eg SCSI ID 0 and 1.

Setup instructions and some drivers are available for SUMO at TheRef(tm).

I have the SPI-300 model and it has a DB25-F on the back. What pinout is
this? The SCSI FAQ says that there is a MAC pinout and a Future Domain
pinout. I can't find anything on the NEC site.

The pinouts of each DB25 type are shown in the TechTalk section of
TheRef(tm). By comparing a few pins on the DB25 to the internal 50-pin
"Berg" type SCSI connector, it's easy to figure out which one yours has.
