Below is the SMART report for my son's laptop which has been playing up.
The pending sector count has risen from 18 to 23 in a few days.
Should we get a new HDD?

155 already reallocated and 23 pending ones. Yes, it is
dying. Pending ones a never good, even a single one is a
concern. Reallocated ones are less evere, but I personally
replace disks when they get > 10, unless it took them years.

Yes. The reallocation event count is even worse.

Thanks for that. Do you reckon that these drives are prone to failure?
It's a Toshiba MK3255GSX and only 6 months old.

No they arent.
