Any recommendations/comments? Does anyone have or know where to get
firmware for HP C1599A? Does anyone have or know where to get driver for HP

: Any recommendations/comments?
The C1599A drive reports itself as a C1533A (which is the model number
of a predecessor drive of the same spec). The reason for this "deceit"
is to facilitate backward compatibility with existing backup applications,
some of which rely on product ID for internal settings.

provides links to HP DDS drive firmware. I would reccomend against
an upgrade unless you have a definate problem to fix. There is always
a small risk involved in upgrading drive firmware (due to power failure
whilst reprogramming) and it seems silly to risk ending up with a
factory-return unit for no gain.
