Hello...
At the moment i have my comp set on 16bit high color....but when i
change it to 32bit true color the screen goes all jumbled.

My video card is an S3 2mb....not sure of the model #

When i go to the cmos setup, the highest i can go to is ega/vga

I've also tried changing the res in windows....but it doesn't seem to
make any differnce.

My old comp had an option for 24bit true color....and that was great for
my digital camera....so i just wanna make this one do the same
thing...as 16bit doesn't look quite as good.

Any thoughts?

Cheers.
Rod.

Sounds like it might be time for a new video card. Usually, the jumbled-ness
is the result of an incorrect refresh rate setting. You may be trying to run
at a higher refresh in too high a resolution for your card to support.
Whatever the cause though, you should really consider a new video card. 4mb
pci cards can be found for next to nothing, and 8mb cards are pretty cheap
now. If you do any work in 32-bit at anything over 640x480, you'd really
benefit in the newer technology. Start reading up on reviews and check out
www.pricewatch.com. If you've got $100 to spend, the latest 2d/3d solutions
don't even benchmark 2d performance anymore since it's too fast to worry
about. Then you can run 32-bit at 1280x1024 and be a happy camper :)
