Harddrive interface types

Hey,

I'm looking to upgrade my harddrive and I've noticed there are several
interface types on the market. I'm sticking with EIDE at this point.
But don't know much about the Fast ATA-2, and Ultra Fast ATA types of
interface. Do I need to make sure my motherboard supports these
interface types? I've got a i430VX motherboard. Does this tell me if I
can use a Fast ATA-2 interface HDD and see benefit from the faster
interface? Thanks. Greg.
