I am thinking of buying a US Robotics Courier modem. If I
buy it it's because the price would be less than a third
of the list price. The price would be so low that I wouldn't
have to care about it being "too expensive for what you get".

I'm just interested in hearing if it's a good modem and
if there's another "expensive" alternative I should
think about instead!?

Thanks for your comments.

I've also been shopping for a modem. Be sure to check out
comp.dcom.modems

The consensus in that forum is that the Courier is a GREAT modem. I
didn't see any complaints at all on it but complaints on every other
modem. The Courier has a flash bios and upgrades are frequent. The tech
support line for the Courier has its own 800 number.

I intend to get one soon.

I've had three USR Courier modems with only a minor problem with one of them
that got fixed with no problem.
