At the local computer show this weekend, I saw lots of modems and
soundboards made by a company called Zoltrix. Does anyone know much about
this company (do they make good products?)
Thanks!
Todd
Zoltrix is a low-end manufacturer that, as you say, makes
sound cards and modems (also floppy disks and speakers). They're
commonly seen in stores that carry low-end stuff, rarely in snooty
stores that only sell the "best" (ie. The "sorry, the ONLY modem we
carry is the USR Sportster 33.6" kind of place).
Fair enough, Zoltrix used to make pretty bad stuff; I know
people who had awful times with their old Zotrix modems, but the newer
products are quite good. I have a Zoltrix data/fax modem and
speakers, and both work quite well. Not the fastest modem, but OK,
and it's never died on me. I know lots of people with new Zoltix
stuff, and I've heard no more horror stories. It's not the best
quality stuff, but it saves some money. It depends on what kind of
shopper you are. If you can afford the best, get it. If not, Zoltix
is worth a try.

Zoltrix has been around for a while and make quitew afew products
some are good and some are bad ,the 28800 modems they sell seem to
be alright as I have not had a return on any of them stay a way from there
14,400 modems though tere junk. the soundcards and multimedia kits
quite good and so are the mice and joysticks, these are low to
medium end products that deliver a fair to decent proformance
for what they are and the price you pay, they also have a web page
so you can drivers and the like www.zoltrix.com no I don't work
for them but I am a computer reseller and repair depot operator
and do sell a lot of the product with good success with most of it
And they still do.

Which means that, if you're going to stick it in your computer and
never move it or touch it again you'll probably be lucky and it work
for a year when you'll want to upgrade to something else.

Isn't Zoltrix a giant Robot from space that fights
mutant monsters with medieval weapons?

All the stuff I ever tried out got returned.
