I've been looking into upgrading my Slot-1 CPU and I noticed that the
133Mhz FSB processors seem to be cheaper. It would be nice if I could
use these and save some $$.
My motherboard is an Abit BX6 Rev 2.0 (Intel 440BX chipset).

Yes. However, if you run the processor at 100-MHz FSB, then the CPU
speed will be lower than what the processor is marked. For example, a
1-GHz/133-MHz FSB processor has a multiplier of 7.5, and since the
multiplier can't be changed, running it at 100-MHz FSB will result in a
CPU speed of 750-MHz.
To get the "full" CPU speed you'd need to overclock the board to 133-MHz
FSB. This may work okay *if* you have PC133 memory, and *if* the
PCI-bus devices in your system will tolerate the overclocked 88-MHz PCI
bus frequency (normal is 66-MHz).

That last bit applies to the AGP bus, not the PCI bus, but is otherwise
correct. It is worth noting, however, that there are many commonly available
graphics cards that will run on an 89mhz AGP 2X bus behind the 440BX chipset.
The memory issue is also correct, and operating the memory bus at 133mhz may
preclude a full population of double-sided dimms in all dimm slots
(particularly if there are four dimm slots).

Indeed what I meant was AGP, as that board I believe does have the 1/4
PCI divider necessary for use at 133FSB, but has no better than a 2/3
AGP divider. Unfortunately my brain and fingers did not cooperate with
each other. Thanks for the clarification, and I apologize for any
confusion.
