Major manufactures of RAM??

Could anybody tell me some of the major manufactures of RAM?
What are the advantages of using these RAMs over these manufactured by
cheaper brands? (better performance? more reliable? etc)
And if you could, please tell me some well established
venders/retailers of these RAMs (major brands')

highest quality manufacturing and obviously this would equate to "most
reliable" but I could be wrong. Personally I won't by ram from a
manufacturer like Goldstar because they are known for making cheap
quality products. As far as speed, I really can't say because I don't
know of any program that actually tests the speed of the ram. There
are programs that test the speeds of the ram overall (Wintune etc.)
but I wish I could find one that actually tells me if my installed EDO
ram is actually running at 60ns's. Anyone know of such a utility?
