I just had a thought of how good it would be to have data link or modem
connection through Castle Wolfenstien, and you and your opponent could
stalk each other and come eye to eye in combat.
Or maybe a network setup where you could have a "last man standing" game
between a heap of people.
Is ID thinking of doing something like this in the future? If they did
now THAT would be fun.

BTW: How is "Green 'n' Pissed" coming along, to you at ID?

We toasted the Green and Pissed name and now call the new game DOOM. It
will be multi-player (modem and net).

Also how about a team mode. ie team against team or team against computer?

Wolftenstien would be great if you could have a partner to walk arround the
castle with.

well thats my $0.02 worth :)

Can I make a general request to games designers producing network
version games that they use NETBIOS or TCP-IP protocols and not
some proprietary transport such as Novell, not everyone has Novell
(i.e. us) and every network worth its salt supports both these
standards.

Just want to be able to play your games!

You'll be able to play DOOM in team mode or head to head. In fact you
could be playing team mode then decide to turn around and blow away your
teammates because you don't like the color of their shoes. :)

Not to worry were are going to attempt to support as many nets as possible.

In the original Wolfenstein for the Apple ][, there were also grenades that
would clear a room (usually). Is there a reason that these don't appear
in Wolf3D? Just curious.

Also, I would like to see bullet holes appear on the walls when you shoot.
This would give you some indication of where your rounds are impacting in
a crowded room (not like it really matters!!). But it would be nice to
see. Then animation engine for Wolf3D seems fast enough to handle
bulletholes, although this *would* add an awful lot of extra data to keep
track of. Ooops, maybe I've just answered my own question. Jay at ID,
any input?

a futuric (?) racing game this month? IS this correct? Had Apogge released

That's not true...just a rumor.

Actually we had all that stuff in WOLF3D at alpha time but found the
interface so clumsy that the game was no longer fun. At that point we
decided to make the game a straight shooter.

It wasn't a question of keeping track of too much data. It was a question
of having that much data. Doing what you suggest would have added way too
much size to the program to make it downloadable by most BBS users.
