Star Control II- cannot get past copy protection

I found my copy of Star Control II the other day when digging in
some disks and I reinstalled it, remembering that I'd never beaten it.
Unfortunately, I soon discovered why I hadn't beaten it- the copy
protection! My box and manual were thrown out on accident a long time
ago. I've tried several cracks, but none of them work, and I cannot
find anyone who has the manual. Does anyone have a list of the planets
and coordinates? I really want to play this game! Thanks,

Control collection (1 and 2) on CD a few months ago. It comes with a
black and white map (not nearly as nice as the old color one, but it is
bigger and also has quasi-space on it) and the copy protection taken out
of both games. And its retail was like $20 (at Microcenter, anyway), so
perhaps you want to consider picking it up. If for no other reason than
to have it on CD instead of disk!

The reason is that the copy protection is a particularly onerous one
in this game. I guess you have not had the pleasure of SCII - my all
time favorite!

a nice big flame war over "Well, I'm just seeing what it's like" and
"No, you have to pay for it" and "Just seeing how tough it is" and stuff like
that. I personally bought the Star Control Collection CD, admittedly years
after having pirated SC1/2, but I figured they're worth the $30 or whatever
it was. Excellent game, SC2 is.
Jesse Harris Nice
at getting SC2 to run under Win95? The sound works fine, the games
seems to work but the graphics are screwed. The screen doesn't
'refresh', so you end up with serious overlap since it displays multiple
screens on top of each other. Needless to say, it looks interesting,
but is unplayable. Any suggestions welcome.
