American West, Regency England, Ancient Rome. Just change the clothes and a few little details.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I've scoured JAMF Nation and the internet, and have found a little information here and there, but a lot of it is outdated. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck in Big Sur using a policy to set the wallpaper of a desktop via JAMF?</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>We're using the recommended settings for both the policy and profile restrictions as documented in JAMF, however, when we try and run the following script after the package containing the wallpaper is downloaded and installed, we don't immediately see the wallpaper change on the desktop.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Ok, this is interesting. I created a test policy which would download and install the Desktoppr.pkg file, as well as download and install the wallpaper.pkg file. Both install fine. I then have a script which hides the wallpaper.jpg file (works fine) and then tries to run the following command in the script:</div><div></div><div></div><div>The script exits with no errors, but the wallpaper does not change. The only time I have been able to see the wallpaper change is if I log out, or remove the device from the config profile, and add it back in so it runs the profile installer again. The profile we have is currently setup to restrict the desktop wallpaper and lock it to the file above.</div><div></div><div></div><div>In that case you could scope the profile that puts the restriction in place to a smart group where the wallpaper and desktoppr installation packages have been installed.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>This should allow for the setting of the background properly before it gets locked in, assuming your installation is what is initiating the wall paper change.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Thanks for your reply! I did create a smart group which shows me which devices have received the packages so I know it's working at least from the download and installation standpoint. I'm just not able to see that wallpaper change reflected on the device until I log out or remove and add back in the config profile that has the restriction.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I think right now the easiest thing for me to do is to simply remove the profile and immediately add it back on which should then make the change based on the testing I've done on some spare laptops. Even when I've tried running the command in terminal on a device I am still unable to see the wallpaper change and I've tried several different wallpapers in several different locations on the device.</div><div></div><div></div><div>One other thing to keep in mind is that the desktop wallpaper is considered in the user context in macOS. That means if you are trying to use JAMF to make the change, your script has to issue the command in the context of the user and not root (which is the default way JAMF runs scripts). That means you may have to probably do something like this:</div><div></div><div></div><div>An extension attribute DefaultWallpaper checks if the file exists and gives a true or false in return while a smart group contains the macs for which the result of the extension attribute is true. I scope the policy that locks the wallpaper to this smart group.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Has this issue been resolved? I cant select the gallery for my wallpaper and as above, the error Im getting isnt correct. The permissions are set to allow access but it doesnt work. I have an LG Thin-Q.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Smart Whiteboard Wallpaper is the perfect solution for creating a high performing dry erase surface almost anywhere you want with just one easy application. Since wallpaper can be adjusted, wouldn't one large size fit all?</div><div></div><div></div><div>Screen widths (in portrait view) can range anywhere from 320px to 414px, and screen heights range from 568px to 812px. Averaging these out gets you roughly 367 x 690px. These aren't exact dimensions for any phone on the market, but they are close enough to the standard Android size (360 x 640px), the Galaxy S8 (360 x 740px), and the Pixel 2XL (360 x 720px) to justify designing to those screen sizes. I give the edge to the Galaxy S8 in this instance since Samsung currently has the edge in smartphone market share at the moment.</div><div></div><div></div><div>As mentioned in the previous section, Samsung is the preferential smartphone in the consumer market currently holding about 23% of the market share. What makes this a less reliable option for basis of design is iPhone holding just over 15% and the historical power struggle of Samsung vs. iPhone. In such a volatile market, it wouldn't be wise to base design solely on this data point alone.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Our peel-and-stick substrate, smooth as petal silk, features a pressure-activated adhesive, ensuring a clean and effortless installation. When all walls are papered, the room appears harmonious, more open and sometimes even bigger than before. This effect is extended to the rest of your home when you paper adjacent rooms.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If you have a favorite color then tone on tone is a great way to mix and match wallpaper. This would create a red thread in your home that could be extended all throughout the house with wallpaper, paint and the rest of your interior furniture.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Tone on tone gives a peaceful impression without compromising on patterns and motives. Wallpapers Emrik, Misty Blue and Ragnvi, Indigo Blue both share the same blue and beige tones. When placed in the same home these wallpapers form a link and create a harmonious flow between rooms.</div><div></div><div></div><div>For example, Faded Passion Misty Blue dresses the dining room and Magnus Clay has been chosen for the living room area. These two wallpapers are different in color and pattern type but work well together as they are working in synergy and not competing for your attention.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Another great way to create a red thread in your home is to stay true to your preferred style. Classic and timeless wallpaper has the same expression and calm atmosphere. This type of wallpaper is full of elegance and character that stretches beyond time and trends.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Wallpaper Charlotta Forest Green is above matched with Lilie Sandstone. These wallpapers have different color shades and different pattern types but are a match made in heaven due to their shared timeless expression.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Modern wallpaper, is a great choice for you whose heart beat for a contemporary interior design style. If you prefer modern wallpaper then Rio and Estelle can either be combined in the same room for a playful effect or as above, on two different floors. This hallway is dressed in the thinly tripped Estelle wallpaper that maximizes light and elegance in the entrance hall. Rio Teal is a perfect match that decorates the top landing above in a harmonious flow.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If your photo is too large</div><div></div><div>Open the photo and take a screenshot of it. Then edit the screenshot as needed and set it as the wallpaper.</div><div></div><div>If you selected a live or interactive wallpaper</div><div></div><div>If your battery is low, temporarily change wallpaper to a static image to save power.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Our magnetic wallpaper is easy to install and can be hung horizontally, vertically or even on curved rounded walls. Please note we recommend hanging the wallpaper horizontally to facilitate working at eye level. The application steps are straightforward and easy to follow and can be found here.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Smarter Surfaces Magnetic Wallpaper brings all the benefits of a magnetic surface such as ability to plan and brainstorm better, as well as the benefits of a wallpaper such as quick installation and a smooth finish.
