On 13 March 2010 MegaGame Makers will host a new MegaGame in Utrecht
(Netherlands), this time with the subject "Gallic Wars":
http://www.megagame-makers.org.uk/mm-fg.htm

Last year we played "Breaktrough 1940" on Fall Gelb and had a lot of
fun! In a MegaGame you'll play a super wargame a day long with about a
hundred or so wargamers. You'll have a role of political leader, chief
of staff or general of an army group, division or something alike. The
umpires make sure the game flows and will resolve combat, military and
political decisions.

Both Eddy and myself are participating in Utrecht, but maybe there are
more war-historical posters who would like to participate so we can
form our own "war-historical" kampfgrüppe ;-) fighting for Rome in
Gallia!

Screw that - I'll be a Germanic cavalry chief taking bribes from
*both* sides and then going after the Gallic women and wine :)

Anyway, as Bas said, the previous MegaGame was a hoot and a unique
experience. Drop us a mail.

Sounds cool. I may have participated in something similar about 15-20
years ago (organised by a consim group from Antwerp): everybody was a
German officer during the Battle of the Bulge (the refs played the Allies
and won easily). It was a spectacular case of miscommunication and
misunderstandings. Fuck ups all over the place, but a lot of fun too.

I might come. See if I do any better this time.

Looks like it's going to be a more diplomacy oriented game this time
<sharpens knives> <puts on innocent smile>

But we definitely need more info about available roles, team-play
etc.

This game is being organised by Megagames Nederland, our sister group
in the Netherlands and one we co-operate with fully (I am from
Megagame Makers in the UK). Last year's game was great, and written by
one of the UK leading lights - Jim Wallman. This year's game is
organised and written by our friends in the Netherlands, but we are
helping as much as we can and a number of us will be attending from
the UK. We run games in South LOndon about 4 times a year, but this
year we are also repeating the game of the WW2 German invasion of
France. This will be in May in Dover (see www.megagames.org.uk). I
gighly recommend the two games, or indeed any othjers that we run. A
number of Belgian and Dutch players come over and we will make you
very welcome.

Aha, so there will be some British tribes present - <mental note :
attack those guys at 4 pm, they'll be having tea then>

I know half a dozen people waiting for you guys to setup another
Market-Garden game in The Netherlands - and you don't need to wait
'til 2014 to do it as far as we're concerned :)
