5. Be thankful it happens in that order.
An added bonus is that the Marine Mania expansion pack also includes the
previous expansion pack, Dinosaur Digs. I only have the original Zoo Tycoon
game so I don't know how good these expansion packs are.

They're actually pretty good. Marine Mania adds even more variety with
the animal tanks and mixed exhibits (some animals from the original
Zoo Tycoon can now be placed in mixed exhibits, with a tank as their
fresh water supply into which we can see them swim through the water.)
Definitely adds reply value to have so many animals to choose from,
and MS also releases free animals and themes to download on a regular
basis.

I'm more used to real time strategy games where combat is involved, such as
the Command & Conquer series, so Zoo Tycoon provided a nice non-violent
twist to things for me. I'm can't say I like it as much as RTS combat since
there is really not a whole lot to do other than build up your zoo and make
it a piece of art that is both visually pleasing to you and the virtual
guests that visit it (I admit that I lack imagination in this regard!).
There's not a whole lot of excitement to be had. Still, despite these
gripes, it does have a certain appeal to it and like playing it now and
then. I'm hearing good things about the expansion packs and the variety
they provide, and you are right about Microsoft making add-ons such as new
animals available for download. Thanks for the reply. Marine Mania may be
something I'll pick up once the price comes down somewhat.
