Hi everybody:

Lately I noticed that, when playing Conquer the World campaigns, I
don't seem to have the same type of tactical control I do in the
"Quick Battles." Specifically, I can't assign behaviour 'stances' to
military units (i.e. aggressive, defensive), nor can I adjust
formation types. In cities, I cannot assign civilians to "go to
lumber" for example.

The 'boxes' where the options normally would appear are just blank.

Is this supposed to be disabled for CTW or a bug (or a feature)?

I have tried to update and have the latest game version. It is on a
WinXP PC.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I've been playing CtW exclusively for months and have no problems with
accessing such features.

Have you checked to see if the 'Advnaced Command Options' (or
whatever) toggle is on? (Can't remember which button it is off-hand,
sorry.)

Taki is probably right. Go to F10, check options and see if Advanced
Options is on,

Indeed, this fixed the problem.

You can toggle "Advanced Options" on in the F10 palette ... or right
on the main display just to the left and below the mini-map. I must
have accidentally clicked that button because it always worked for me
before. Rhetorically speaking, who would NOT want these options active
and why?

Thank you both for your help. Much appreciated. Back to empire
building for me ... now with new and improved unit control!

Glad it worked. Strikes me as an odd design decision to have default as
"Off" I had to re-discover it when I installed the expansion.
