Help!!! Perfect starting team for Jagged Alliance???

Hi.
Just got JA.
Having problems getting a well-rounded starting team
while being financially cautious also. Any suggestions?
What is your ideal starting team?
I've been using Carp, Grunty, Vinny, Hector, Hurl, It and Gary as
my starters but can't get far into the game on a team like that.
Help! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I usually start with Ice, Ivan and Fidel as shooters, Eli for medic and
Jimmy for mechanical. For the rest I pick between Bud, Snake, Wolf
or Grunty. Fidel and Ivan are probably the most vital ones tho.

If you are careful, you can get past the first couple of days with just Ivan, Ice,
and a mediocre doctor, like Hurl. Don't hire too many, since you will have to fire
them or let them die to hire better Mercs later on, and that is bad for your team
stats. If you have too many deaths or a high turnover rate many Mercs won't work for
you.

It's been awhile since I played, so I don't remember all the
peoples names. But I'd suggest a starting team that consists
of:

2-3 Good shots:
Ice and/or Ivan
Fidel (Who is also an excellent explosives expert)

1-2 cheap OK doctors:
Start with Beth (really cheap, adequate doctor) - Keep her out of
firefights.
Add another doctor when you need to keep people back at the base
to heal up. That way you have a field doctor and a
doctor to keep at home. Don't bother with people with
super high doctor skills. 30-40 is fine.

1-2 Mechanics:
Speck and/or Vinny - Vinny is a much better shot, but Speck can
pick locks better.

1 Explosives expert:
Fidel (who is also an excellent shot)

Don't hire 8 guys right away. 5-6 will get you started. Accept the fact
that you will be losing money at first and don't skimp on the good shooters
(80+ marksmanship). When your cash flow problems ease, hire more guys.

Got Ivan, Ice, Snake and Fidel as shooters, and Wolf as
the do-everything-else man.
What else would you use those money for, anyway?

First day:

Ivan (If you don't take him you'll have another difficulty level :-))
Snake (comes with a camouflage kit)
Fidel (one of the best shooters available on day 1)
Ice (another bargain)
Vinnie (not sure if he's really necessary)
Sparky (best mechanic for your base)

Second day:
Fox (best doctor for the price)


Sounds expensive but you'll get the money back.

I've been using Jimmy in my starting team also, and its amazing how much
a better shot he is (even though his marksmanship is low) than someone
like Hector. I don't know why, but Hector is quite a lousy shot.....so be
careful in using him in a starting team, as you will not want him around
for long.

One additional question.....whats the concensus on getting rid of mercs?
Fire them or kill them off? Opinions?
