Hey, does anyone know the ideal building ratio for a balanced city? E.g..
: 2 Residential unit : 1 1/2 Industry : 1 Commercial. I just can't get a
balanced city. All my cities have high rate of residential and commercial
but extremely low industrial. Zone more industry but the outcome is the
same.

Please tell me if anyone out there knows

Transport is usually around 37-38%
Residental 15-18%
Industy 12-15%
Commerce 5-7%

Thats around what I have and I got a 11% tax, and all bars in the roof
:)

Iskander, I usually want 2 residential for every 1 commercial plus 1
industrial - early in the game it will be 2 res 1.5 indust; 0.5
commercial, then later it will be more balanced - for very big cities
- it will be 2 res 0.9 or 0.8 industrial and 1.1 or 1.2 commercial -
hope this helps

Plus, you need a seaport to get your industry going in the mid game -
and connections to the sides of the map help too

A good bet for cities over 120,000 is 3r:2c:1I. I usually have under 20%
transportation and populations of at least 5,500,000.
