Here are some more questions:

(1) What's the difference between the normal AI and the "enhanced" AI (the
one that is turned on at the Hard setting)?

(2) Is it possible to switch a unit from being a core unit to a non-core
unit, or vice-versa (like if I wanted to replace a core fighter with
a non-core level bomber in the France scenario)?

(3) Can games be saved within a scenario? Would this be considered
cheating?

(4) What is the campaign tree for the whole game? Will winning major
victories take me through the most scenarios?

Thanks for any help.

BTW, I just won a major victory at Norway at the Hard setting. I was
actually hoping for just a minor victory but I guess I got lucky. An
interesting thing I did was send my 2 Luftwaffe up the right edge of the
map and land them at the little town southeast of my northeasternmost
(is that a word?) objective and the building a good tank and a few more
infantry units there to capture the northeasternmost city.

Please send replies to me directly, in addition to the newsgroup.

Thanks,
Mike Steiner

I don't know.

no. But you can disband a unit if you have hit the ceiling of the number
of core units you can get. (I don't think that this happens without
cheating, at least not in my case).

Yes and no.

Someone just posted the latest version of the tree on this newsgroup today.

Oh, that's rather easy - in '39 game, after Majors in Poland,
Warsaw and Norway I had my core maxed out. PzJaegers (sp?) are only 24
prestige, cheap to replace and get experience quickly. Allways better
than just empty space.
I would agree, though , that it takes a lot of luck to have
enough prestige for maxing out with good tanks / planes.

Actually, I think the AI is the same on Medium or Hard. But on Hard the
computer's units start with more experience, and it gets more prestige as
the scenario progresses.

<<(2) Is it possible to switch a unit from being a core unit to a non-core

Nope.

<<(3) Can games be saved within a scenario? Would this be considered

Yes, you can save any time you want. It's not cheating unless you use the
feature to replay turns where things didn't go quite as you hoped. When
playing against the computer, of course, you get to define "cheating"
however you like. In PBEM games, though, replaying turns for optimum
results is definitely cheating, IMO.

Someone just posted a tree update earlier today; look around.
